"We would do well to slow down a little, focus on the significant, lift up our eyes and truly see the things that matter most.
Strength comes not from frantic activity, but from being settled on a firm foundation of truth and light.
It comes from paying attention to the divine things that matter most." Elder Uchtdorf

The Evolution of Fairies

The other day Gideon brought me the Cinderella DVD and said,
"I haven't watched Cinderella in years!"

Since I couldn't argue with such purely preschool logic; I put it on, which led me to wonder...

When was it that Disney fairies changed from this

To this?

And, is that ok with us?

Playing Catch

I love how he finally figured out how to get the ball without bumping his head.

The Bathroom

Have you ever considered going to the store to use the public restroom because it might be cleaner than yours?
I have.

BabySteals.com

BabySteals.com
Have you heard of this website?!? It's so much fun. A friend at church told me about it right after Joe Joe was born (last May) and I had to be at the computer at 9 am for weeks so I could get the awesome deals they have every day. Gave me something to look forward to other than breastfeeding the baby again in 20 minutes! :) You should check it out!

They post a new deal every day at 9 am. Quality products-- and great deals!

Sometimes I Wonder

If going to the park is worth it.

Joseph is a very determined little man... and right now, he is determined to taste anything and everything he can get into his mouth- no matter where it came from or where it's been.

The weather was so beautiful and everything is blooming-- Going to the park is Worth It. Very worth it.

We all LOVED it!

The evidence is all over his chubby little face... See his cute little teeth? Appreciate them- they were no easy feat.

"Springtime is Coming...

Is coming today; for I heard a robin who was calling her this way."

I can't stop singing this primary song the last couple of days. Yesterday, in a completely quiet house (rare, very rare) I was sweeping the kitchen floor with the windows open. I could feel the breeze and hear the birds singing in the trees. And I felt so happy. Springtime, for me, is like coming home from a long vacation... it's not that the vacation was bad, it's just that it feels so good to be home. You know? It makes me wonder what the resurrection will feel like.

Two Things...

1- Last night while we were eating dinner (Chicken Tikka Masala), Gideon said, "Mom, thanks for making the best Chicken Masala I ever ate!" It made my day... usually I am forcing food down his throat.

2- And, to all you Facebookers- some of these pictures will look strangely familiar... sorry!

Please Touch Museum

Going to a Children's museum on the first day of Spring Break in Philadelphia-- by yourself with two kids-- on a cold, rainy, overcast day-- with a teething baby?
Brilliant!

Let's just say that on certain days, anything is worth getting out of the house...
Someday, we will get an "eyes open" smile that doesn't look like the mugshot of a crack addict, I just know it!
This track with the little wooden animals is Gideon's favorite part of the museum... besides the water. It usually takes some serious convincing for him to let the other kids have a turn.
Joseph is always making friends, wherever he goes!

Walking

This is a clip of Joseph walking (he's not used to wearing shoes)-- he does better every day, but you should see his head! He is never without at least a couple serious bruises.

My Own Little Iron Chef

This is Gideon's version of helping with dinner... You gotta listen close- his mouth is full.

So You Think You Can Dance?

I think we have some serious star potential on our hands...

And as hard as it is for me to admit it, I think he gets this hidden talent from Levi's side.

The Joys of Childhood

Easter

The Easter Bunny did, indeed, visit our house this year. We were so glad.
Especially Gideon. And Joseph...Along with candy (and Cheerios), they each got a toy... And a shark tent to share.
Even though we loved having the Easter Bunny visit, we are most grateful for our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. We know He died so that we might live again, submitting himself to death and rising again the third day.
We know He lives.

Food, Friends and Fun

We hosted an Easter Bash on Saturday... we are SO thankful for such wonderful friends. AND for the wonderful food they brought! :)

We were especially thankful the rain stopped long enough for an outside Easter egg hunt. Muddy and fun!

I think our dentist is putting an addition on his house...
Ahhh, the first experience with Pop Rocks...

Making Dinner

"Mom, Joseph's got the jam..."

"That's okay, he's just sucking on the lid. Leave him alone!" "Mom, Mom! He got the lid off, he got the lid off!!"
"He's fine... No, Levi, don't bug him! Just get the rice on or it won't be done in time for dinner."

The rice was excellent.

Too bad Levi missed it cause he was upstairs bathing Joseph...

I Love... Sunshine, Craigslist, and Little Boys...

There have been 2 nice days this spring, so we have taken advantage of both of them... Those better be some VERY impressive May flowers!

Joseph took this faceplant like a man and kept on eating, er... playing outside in the grass. The day after we bought this awesome cube/slide off Craigslist, I went to Walmart to buy an $8 hose to clean it... $35 later (with an $8 hose) we got home only to find out the hose wouldn't work with our spigot. Not to be deterred, we mopped the dang thing! Worked great...As does mopping the car to make it "shiny."
YAY for the cutest little boys on the planet! I love them so much...

Just Hanging Out in Stormy April Weather- "In like a lion," oh wait... darn.

Joseph is not a fan of baby food peas- but he's such a good sport he eats them anyway.

He is a fan of Cheerios, though, and since Gideon is a fan of everything baby right now (except Joseph) he was in on the Cheerios action. Okay, I know he loves Joseph in his heart of hearts and he is an excellent big brother most of the time, but he isn't always a fan of the little shadow who follows him around and gets into his stuff and always gets him into trouble with Mom...

Gideon trying his best to smile with his eyes open

Joseph has to be right in the middle of the action, which usually means right under my feet (literally), especially when I'm cooking/baking. He is very determined and persistent...

I love my boys so much!
