"We would do well to slow down a little, focus on the significant, lift up our eyes and truly see the things that matter most.
Strength comes not from frantic activity, but from being settled on a firm foundation of truth and light.
It comes from paying attention to the divine things that matter most." Elder Uchtdorf

End of October Catch-Up

Saturday Fun
A couple of weeks ago, we took a little Saturday drive to the outlet mall to get a shirt for G's Halloween costume... it's such beautiful countryside, I wanted to show it to Levi. We found a park on the way home just perfect for a picnic and playing on toys.
Levi caught me snuggling my little one on the swing...His whole life, whenever G sees a dog he absolutely has to go pet it.
Someday we will have our own, I promise.
Carving Pumpkins
When we were carving the pumpkins, I got the thumbtacks to keep the pattern on the pumpkin, and G went to town with them...
So this was our Jack-O-Lantern this year. It lived on the top of the fridge because that was the only safe place for him. We loved it, though, and we'll just use the candles next year.
We made G eat spinach before he could have Family Home Evening treats. He's a trooper!

Learning how to eat solids...
Prunes, to be exact. He loves them!

Doesn't he look so much like Levi?!? Everybody we meet says so...
Rainy Day Adventures
Last week we needed to go downtown (in our little town) to get a part for the car... it was about 3 miles round trip and Levi didn't think we should all go together in case it rained. Too bad he married such a stubborn (housebound) adventurer. :) So, off we went.
About halfway there, it started raining hard, really hard. So all the people on the street we happened to be on got to see an all out brawl between Levi and I in the middle of the street in the wind-whipped rain. Yep, he was pulling the stroller toward home and I was tugging it toward the store we were halfway too... I won.
Well, I guess you could say that- I was soaked to the bone by the time we got there and then I realized just how long the 1.5 miles home was gonna be. (Just so you know, the kids were super cozy, warm and dry the whole time in the stroller so I wasn't being a terrible mother, just a terrible wife). :)
After a little hot chocolate and a warm Philadelphia Soft Preztel, it was a great walk home... and we even stopped at the grocery store to get some sorely needed groceries to help us make it through the weekend. And, we got to enjoy the beautiful October leaves.
This is Levi striking a pose for the hundreth picture I took of the fall leaves... so patient and such a fun husband and father!
